UF Health Neonatology in Jacksonville offers expert medical care for premature and critically ill newborns. These tiny patients receive the finest medical care possible in our 43-bed neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at UF Health Jacksonville. As part of a specialized team at a top-rated regional referral center, our physicians and staff provide intensive care for infants from around Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia.

Our team of caregivers include board-certified faculty neonatologists of the University of Florida Division of Neonatology – Jacksonville, as well as pediatric surgeons, neonatal nurse practitioners, physician assistants, respiratory therapists, transport specialists and other specially trained support staff who are on hand 24 hours a day to respond to newborn infants in need of highly skilled care.

The team cares for the full spectrum of newborns, from the tiniest premature infants who require complex critical care, to mature infants born at term. The NICU staff also prepares families for life at home with the necessary training in infant care, CPR and appropriate follow-up care.
