As you already know, a career in medical imaging is both meaningful and rewarding. That’s why you’re considering a post-primary certification in computed tomography. Through daily interactions with clinically competent instructors at UF Health Jacksonville, the only Level 1 Trauma Center in the region, you’ll develop exceptional technical skills in CT. You’ll become part of a team caring for people during their most vulnerable moments, and over the course of four months, you'll work toward becoming a lasting member of that team. At the end of each day, you’ll know you’ve made a meaningful impact on patients’ lives while learning to produce high-quality diagnostic images that assist in the diagnosis and prognosis of injury and disease.
Affordable
Our program is largely funded by the UF Health Jacksonville Radiology Department. Therefore, savings are passed on to you with affordable tuition. Our team is invested in your growth and development as an exceptional computed tomography technologist. We want to “home grow” our future professionals to ensure they have the skills, knowledge, and attributes to establish great long-lasting careers here at UF Health Jacksonville and ensure our patients receive the highest level of care.

Meals
Meal tickets are provided for each student and carry a current value of $35/week. The ticket will permit each student lunch in the hospital’s cafeteria.
Parking
Free parking is available in designated lots for students during scheduled clinical shifts.

Alexis C. Collins, R.T. (R)(CT)
Alexis Collins RT(R)(CT) graduated from the Radiology Program at Okefenokee Technical College in 2009 and has built a career in medical imaging with a focus on CT. Since that time, Alexis has worked as a CT technologist, gaining extensive experience in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Before stepping into the role of CT Supervisor in 2022, Alexis served as the lead CT Technologist and clinical instructor for the CT program, where a passion for education and mentoring was evident. Alexis enjoys working with students and sharing knowledge, a strength that continues to carry over into leadership. In the supervisor role, Alexis combines technical expertise with dedication to patient care, staff development, and the advancement of the CT team.
Sarah Harrell, R.T. (R)(CT)
Sarah Harrell, R.T. (R) (CT) is the CT Instructor for the UF Health Jacksonville School of Radiologic Technology, with Radiology experience dating back to 2013 and a dedicated focus on Computed Tomography since 2015. In 2022, Sarah brought her CT expertise into the classroom, combining clinical knowledge with a strong commitment to education. She holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Workforce Management and Leadership with a focus on Health Information Technology from the College of Coastal Georgia. She is also a proud graduate of the Mayo School of Health Sciences Radiology Program and the CT Program at UF Health Jacksonville.
Sarah’s passion for teaching began in the beauty industry, where she worked as an educator. While she started her career as a hairdresser, it was mentoring others that sparked her enduring interest in education, a passion she now channels into supporting and inspiring her students.
