Information for Visitors, Vendors and Contractors Updated September 22, 2020 Leadership and medical staff recognize that visitor and family presence is important to our patients’ medical and psychological well-being, providing comfort and assisting in the healing process. Limitations to visitation are continuously re-evaluated based on the risk of COVID-19 and in consideration of patient, family and health care providers. Starting on Sept. 22, we are implementing a revised visitation policy that welcomes back family and friends to visit with their loved ones in certain areas. Please carefully read the information below regarding the updated visitation policy. All visitors will be screened for fever, cough and shortness of breath, and will not be able to enter the facility if they have these symptoms. Visitors are also required to wear masks when on UF Health property. Clinical Center, Pavilion and North Campus The Clinical Center, Pavilion and North campus will welcome one visitor at a time. Most patients may have one visitor every day from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. If more than one visitor comes to see a patient, please trade places with each other outside the building. This will help maintain social distancing by limiting the number of visitors within our facility. Clinics On and Off Campus Clinics on and off campus will remain closed to visitors, as waiting rooms cannot support social distancing. Exceptions may be facilitated based on patient needs with the staff of each clinic. Emergency Departments Emergency departments at both campuses will welcome one visitor per patient in the waiting room, with social distancing, until capacity is met. Perioperative Inpatient surgery – one visitor is allowed to wait in the patient’s room. Outpatient surgery – one visitor per patient is allowed in the waiting room, with social distancing, until capacity is met. PACU – no visitors are allowed in the PACU. Inpatient Waiting Rooms Inpatient waiting rooms will remain closed, as social distancing cannot be provided. Positive COVID-19 Patients Positive COVID-19 patients in inpatient units, emergency departments and clinics are not allowed to have visitors. Virtual visits are available. Please call Patient Relations at 904-244-4427 to schedule an online visit with your loved one. Please note, special circumstances will be granted for specific reasons for either non-COVID-19 and/or positive COVID-19 patients.
