Information for Visitors, Vendors and Contractors

The visitation policy is continuously re-evaluated based on the risk of COVID-19 and in consideration of patient, family and health care providers.

Please carefully read the information below regarding the visitation policy.

Visitors must be 12 years of age or older and will be screened for specific symptoms upon entering the building. All visitors are required to wear a mask and practice physical distancing.

UF Health Jacksonville

  • Two visitors allowed per patient at a time. If more than two visitors come to see a patient, please trade places with each other outside the building.
  • Visitation hours are from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.
  • One visitor can stay overnight with the patient in a private room.

UF Health North

  • Two visitors allowed per patient at a time. If more than two visitors come to see a patient, please trade places with each other outside the building.
  • Visitation hours are from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.
  • One visitor can stay overnight with the patient in a private room.

Clinics On and Off Campus

  • Clinics on and off campus will welcome one visitor per patient at a time.

Emergency Departments

  • Emergency departments at both campuses will welcome one visitor per patient in the waiting room, with physical distancing, until capacity is met.

Perioperative

  • Inpatient surgery – Two visitors are allowed to wait in the patient’s room.
  • Outpatient surgery – Two visitors per patient are allowed in the waiting room, with physical distancing, until capacity is met.
  • PACU – One visitor is permitted at the bedside for 15 minutes once the patient has met Phase 1 discharge criteria.

Inpatient Waiting Rooms

  • Limited inpatient waiting rooms are open, with physical distancing practiced.

Women’s Services

  • North campus labor and delivery units welcome two visitors to stay with the patient from admission to discharge, which includes overnight stays.
  • Downtown campus labor and delivery unit welcome two visitors to stay with the patient until delivery.
  • The Women’s Acute Care Center allows one visitor at all times due to space limitations.
  • North allows two visitors during the day and only one visitor overnight due to space limitations.
  • One visitor is allowed in triage.

Positive COVID-19 Patients

  • Positive COVID-19 patients in inpatient units, emergency departments and clinics are not allowed to have visitors. Virtual visits are available. Please call Patient Relations at 904-244-4427 to schedule an online visit with your loved one.

Please note, special circumstances may be granted for specific reasons for non-COVID-19 and/or positive COVID-19 patients.
