Under the leadership of Dr. Leon L. Haley Jr., UF Health Jacksonville and the UF College of Medicine – Jacksonville reached new heights. He was committed to strategically growing the enterprise and he ensured our mission to heal, to comfort, to educate and to discover was the motivating factor in every initiative. Dr. Haley led the enterprise by example and helped us achieve great things.

Always leading by example and demonstrating his trust in science, Dr. Haley became the first person in Florida to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. Read Story

An advocate for health equity, Dr. Haley assembled a special team that created the UF Health Urban Health Alliance, a social services hub that connects patients at the Total Care Clinic with various agencies help them with job placement, housing, food and other resources they may need. Read Story

Thanks to Dr. Haley’s efforts, UF Health Jacksonville has collectively received more than $1.6 million in city and state grants to provide testing, vaccinations, health literacy and other initiatives surrounding COVID-19. Read Story

Dr. Haley was instrumental in the launch of the UF Health Brain Wellness Program – Jacksonville. The program will serve military veterans suffering from invisible wounds of war, specifically mild-to-moderate traumatic brain injury, post-traumatic stress and substance abuse. Read Story
