Residency Program
UF Health Jacksonville ranks among the best teaching hospitals in the nation. The
UF Health Jacksonville Physical Therapy Residency Program is designed to provide
exceptional clinical education across the continuum of defined specialty physical
therapy practice based on American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS).
Our organization and department believe that interactive learning is critical for
the development of life-long learning, professionalism, accountability and critical
thinking. Each component of residency training is designed to correlate with ABPTRFE
Quality Standards, and individual academic curriculum learning objectives.
The PT Residency Program involves didactic work, clinical research, mentored leadership
and clinical training via structured mentorship. Residents are expected to be able
to implement all learned knowledge and skills into defined specialty practice resulting
in the next generation of highly effective clinical specialist in physical therapy
and further improving community health outcomes. We are currently offering an orthopaedic
PT residency program.
Program Length: 11.5 months, beginning each summer. The 2022 academic year: 8/15/22-7/28/23.
Numbers of Residents Accepted: Three full time residents per year.
