General Medicine

UF Health General Medicine provides comprehensive primary care for adolescents beginning at age 16 to the elderly. Outpatient services are offered at three separate locations: the Ambulatory Care Center on the UF Health Jacksonville campus, UF Health North and on Jacksonville's Southside at UF Health Emerson Medical Plaza.

Faculty physicians also see patients admitted to the medicine teams at UF Health Jacksonville. Inpatient medical care is provided by a team of physicians comprised of one faculty physician, three internal medicine residents and a third-year medical student.

Additionally, the division offers two unique services to the Jacksonville community:

  • Geriatric and hospice and palliative care services are provided by a faculty physician who holds certificates of added qualifications in both. He provides outpatient geriatric services, including a comprehensive geriatric assessment clinic, a dementia clinic, as well as inpatient hospice and palliative care consultation to patients.

  • The Program for Adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (PAIDD) provides primary care and a medical home for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. For more information about PAIDD, please contact Melinda Morrison, RN, BSN at 904-244-9217.
