Hospital Pediatrics
Together with your child's pediatrician or primary care physician, UF Health
Hospital Pediatrics at Jacksonville coordinates hospital admission
to the appropriate facility and provides inpatient pediatric medical care. Inpatient
care is necessary when the severity of a child’s illness dictates that the evaluation
and management be accomplished in a hospital setting. Our highly experienced pediatric
hospitalists provide medical care for inpatients at Wolfson Children's Hospital and UF Health Jacksonville.
Our pediatric hospitalists provide the following services:
- Performs medical examinations while the patient is in the hospital
- Requests and reviews laboratory and other medical tests, such as blood tests and
X-rays
- Prescribes medicines
- Confers with other hospital staff to assure care and treatment plans are followed
- Talks with the parents and family about the patient's condition and treatment
- Provides a full report to the child's physician
