U.S. News & World Report Maternity Care Rankings

U.S. News & World Report has once again recognized UF Health Jacksonville and UF Health North as two of the nation’s top hospitals for maternity care, awarding the organization with high-performing status for the second consecutive year.
The recognition is part of the 2025 U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals for Maternity Care Rankings, where UF Health Jacksonville has earned its place as a leader in delivering high-quality care for mothers and newborns.
“This recognition underscores the excellence in care by our OB-GYN faculty physicians and our entire team at both of our campuses, from our physician colleagues, nurses, and all of our clinical staff who work tirelessly around the clock to support the women and children in our community,” said UF Health Jacksonville CEO Patrick L. Green, FACHE. “We remain focused on delivering the highest level of care for expectant mothers and their families, and this ranking reinforces our commitment to improving health outcomes for the communities we serve.”
John D. Davis, MD and chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the UF College of Medicine – Jacksonville, called the recognition a “true honor” for all involved. “We are proud to be recognized again as a national leader in maternity care, and we will continue to strive for the highest standards in every aspect of care we provide,” Davis said. "Our commitment to excellence in care, patient safety, and fostering a supportive environment for both mothers and babies is reflected in this award.”
To determine high-performing status, U.S. News evaluates a range of quality measures, including rates of elective cesarean sections, newborn complications, and the use of surgical interventions such as episiotomy during vaginal childbirth. Additional factors include rates of exclusive breast milk feeding and successfully vaginal births after C-section, as well as the hospital’s commitment to reducing racial and ethnic disparities in maternity care, and increasing birth-friendly practices.
