UF Health North to Welcome New VP
Sean Tinney, FACHE, a health care executive with more than 25 years of experience in multiple leadership positions, is joining UF Health Jacksonville as the new vice president of UF Health North. Tinney will take over the position in early May.
Tinney has an extensive background in finance, operations and strategic planning. Most recently, he served as president of Ascension Seton Cedar Park in Cedar Park, Texas, a 126-bed hospital system with 14 clinics, a freestanding emergency center, an imaging center, a wound care center and three ambulatory surgery centers.
Some of Tinney’s achievements at Ascension Seton Cedar Park included increasing volumes in admissions, imaging and births as well as improving financial performance. He also strengthened patient safety efforts and improved nursing retention, thus reducing costs and improving patient outcomes.
Prior to that, Tinney served in various roles at other health systems: chief operating officer at Medical West, part of the University of Alabama-Birmingham, from 2013 to 2024; president and chief operating officer of the St. Vincent’s health system in East Birmingham, which included a 362-bed hospital and several rural hospitals; and assistant CEO at Parkway Medical Center in Birmingham.
Please join us in welcoming Sean Tinney to our UF Health team!
