Pathology and Laboratory Medicine
UF Health Pathology and Laboratory Medicine – Jacksonville provides
services to UF Health Jacksonville hospital, UF Health clinics and other health
care providers and facilities in Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia. The faculty
of the University of Florida
Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine offer a comprehensive range
of pathology and laboratory services, as well as private consultative services in
breast pathology, autopsy and toxicology. Primary care physicians, surgeons and
specialists at UF Health Jacksonville and other health care facilities across the
country rely on the expertise available in the department.
The department consists of full-time UF pathologists and clinical laboratory scientists
whose specialties cover all areas of anatomical and clinical pathology, as well
as subspecialists in molecular pathology, hematopathology, cytopathology and clinical
toxicology. In addition to clinical service, the department offers a combined anatomic pathology/clinical
pathology residency training program and fellowships in
cytopathology,
breast pathology and
blood banking/transfusion medicine. Faculty members have received
national and international recognition for their contributions to research, education
and integrated patient care.
