Jaguars Player Gives Back this Holiday Season

We were grateful to partner with Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Montaric Brown and his partner Annika Rose for their Aveah Brown Family Foundation to help bring the holiday spirit to our Pediatric Cardiology patients and families. In honor of their daughter who was born with a congenital heart defect, the foundation seeks to provide comfort, joy and encouragement to parents and children spending their holiday in hospital care. The foundation was able to provide 10 families under our care as outpatients with holiday gifts. We appreciate the generosity of Montaric and Annika, and seeing the warm smiles and laughter from the patients and their families.

During the giveaway Dr. Shawyntee Mayo, UF Health pediatric cardiologist, spoke about the work surrounding congenital heart defects in children and ongoing research to continue providing the best care possible for all of our pediatric patients. She also mentioned that the donation from Montaric and Annika helped to provide a meaningful sense of joy and happiness during the holiday season.
