Hematology and Medical Oncology
UF Health Hematology and Oncology – Jacksonville specializes
in the diagnosis and treatment of solid tumors and blood disorders. We provide patient
consultations in the hospital as well as the outpatient setting.
Our University of Florida hemotologist-oncologists are actively involved in
clinical research directed at improving the knowledge and therapy of cancer
services and participate in the post-graduate training of medical oncology fellows.
The oncology fellowship program is highly competitive, and each year there are three
oncology fellows pursuing their training and board certification in medical oncology.
Our physicians operate the outpatient hematology/oncology clinic and work closely
with physicians and allied health professionals from various disciplines within
the hospital, including the outpatient Infusion Center, the
Breast Center, radiation oncologists
and the UF Health Proton Therapy Institute.
Patient care within UF Health Hematology and Medical Oncology often requires the
expertise of multiple specialists, including surgeons,
radiologists,
pathologists, pulmonologists and
radiation therapists.
