Residents, fellows recognized at College of Medicine – Jacksonville graduation

Learning Resource Center

More than 130 residents and fellows were recognized June 11, 2014, for graduating from their respective training programs at the University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville.

About half of the graduating fellows intend to stay in Jacksonville for work, with at least four of them becoming UFCOMJ faculty members. At least a dozen of the other graduating fellows will practice elsewhere in Florida.

The emergency medicine residency program had more graduates (15) than any other program this year. The internal medicine residency program had 14 graduates and the pediatrics residency program had 11.

At least 13 graduating residents will now begin fellowships at UFCOMJ.

“Our UF faculty physicians provide exceptional education and training for our residents and fellows,” said Daniel R. Wilson, MD, PhD, dean of the UF College of Medicine – Jacksonville. “We are proud of the graduates’ accomplishments and look forward to what lies ahead for them, whether it is further training or the start of their careers as medical professionals moving beyond their many years of formal education.”

Also, the UF Health Jacksonville pharmacy residency program had 10 graduates. Half of them will remain at UF Health Jacksonville, either for further training or to begin practice.
