Residents, fellows graduate from UFCOMJ training programs
Nearly 140 trainees recently graduated from their respective residency or fellowship programs at the University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville. A ceremony was held June 10 inside the LRC Auditorium on the UF Health Jacksonville campus.
The emergency medicine residency program had more graduates (15) than any other program this year. The internal medicine residency program had 14 graduates and the pediatrics residency program had 11.
At least four of the graduates will be hired as UFCOMJ faculty and at least 10 intend to practice in Jacksonville at non-UF Health locations. Meanwhile, at least 11 other graduates will practice elsewhere in Florida.
More than a dozen of the graduates will now begin fellowships at UFCOMJ.
“Congratulations to all of the residents and fellows on their recent accomplishments,” said Daniel R. Wilson, MD, PhD, dean of UFCOMJ. “I wish you the best in your future endeavors, whether that is furthering your training or transitioning into professional medical practice.”
Also, the UF Health Jacksonville pharmacy residency program had 10 graduates. At least three of them will remain at UF Health Jacksonville, either for further training or to begin practice.
