Marshall Named Vice President for UF Health North

Wayne Marshall has been appointed vice president for UF Health North, a position that gives him administrative responsibility for the new hospital facility along with the medical office complex.

Along with his duties on the north campus, Marshall will continue to oversee operations for the cardiology, neurosciences and orthopaedics services on UF Health Jacksonville’s downtown campus.

Marshall joined UF Health in April 2004 and most recently served as associate vice president for UF Health North. The new 92-bed inpatient facility is scheduled to open in May 2017.

Marshall began his career as an active-duty member of the United States Air Force and Air National Guard. During his service, he maintained the position of chief of medical operations. After 23 years of service, he retired as a chief master sergeant.

In 2004, he joined Shands Jacksonville Medical Center as director of nursing operations before advancing to director of clinical services. He then progressed into the position of division director for the Emergency Department and trauma services, which encompassed the administration of UF Health TraumaOne and the hospital’s Emergency Preparedness department. During his tenure, he has been responsible for the organization of Florida’s guidelines for the Level I trauma program, including injury prevention, outreach education and data registry collection.

Marshall earned his MBA with a concentration in health care management and a bachelor’s in organizational management.
