Thriving in Medicine

On April 28, the University of Florida College of Medicine hosted the third annual Women in Medicine and Science Leadership Conference in Jacksonville, marking the first combined conference between the Gainesville and Jacksonville campuses. This year's event took place at the DoubleTree on Jacksonville’s Riverfront and focused on "How to Be Well and Thrive in Academic Medicine." Attendees engaged in meaningful discussions on vital topics such as Strategic Self-Promotion, Achieving Work-Life Integration, and Rediscovering Joy in Medicine. Keynote speakers included Nita Ahuja, MD, the chair of the department of surgery at Yale School of Medicine and chief of surgery at Yale New Haven Hospital in Connecticut; and Jennifer Hunt, MD, interim dean of the UF College of Medicine.

The impact of the conference was evident in the testimonials from those present:
