Kamela Scott, Ph.D., is a University of Florida professor of surgery and a psychologist at UF Health Jacksonville. She also serves as associate chair for professional fulfillment and engagement in the Department of Surgery. Dr. Scott received a doctorate of Health Psychology and Behavioral Medicine from the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas, and completed a fellowship in clinical health psychology at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. She specializes in trauma and critical care psychology, adaptation to traumatic injury, grief/loss and collaborative medical care.
