Pediatric anesthesiologists are anesthesiologists with advanced training in the anesthesia, sedation and pain management needs of infants and children. Services performed by pediatric anesthesiologists generally include the evaluation of complex medical problems in infants and children when surgery is necessary, planning and care for children before and after surgery, pain control, anesthesia and sedation for any diagnostic or therapeutic procedures outside the operating room.
Our fellowship-trained pediatric anesthesiologists at the UF Proton Therapy Institute provide anesthesia care to children with cancer. This turns an uncertain and difficult situation for parents and children into a more pleasant and hopeful experience.
