UF Health Rheumatology at Jacksonville conducts outpatient clinics and also provides full-time inpatient hospital consultation services at UF Health Jacksonville.

Unique services provided by the division's faculty include:

  • Non-surgical biological treatment for patients with Dupuytren's contracture with a palpable cord. Dupuytren's contracture is a condition that could limit the range of motion in the fingers and cause significant discomfort to the patient. We offer a biological early stage injection procedure that takes less than 5 minutes to perform in the office.
  • Musculoskeletal ultrasound services, which uses non-ionizing sound waves at high frequency to image tissue. The test is performed by rheumatologists and can last from 15 to 30 minutes with minimal discomfort. Uses for musculoskeletal ultrasound include:
    • Helping pinpoint the source of pain in areas such as the shoulder, elbow, hand, knee and foot
    • Evaluating for tendon inflammation
    • Evaluation of nerve entrapment such as at the hand or elbow
    • Determining if signs of joint inflammation or damage are related to arthritis
    • Determining response to therapy for arthritis
    • Assistance of placement of local injections under ultrasound visualization
