UF Health Jacksonville Hospital and UF Health Shands Hospital are two of the state’s
nine statutory teaching hospitals. They are "safety-net" hospitals and are therefore
relied upon to help serve residents in their primary service area who have little
or no health insurance. UF Health is one of Florida’s largest Medicaid and
charity care providers.
UF Health Jacksonville offers a number of programs for group support and patient education.
Last year, over 500 volunteers contributed more than 66,000 hours of service to
UF Health Jacksonville. Our volunteers are teens and adults, men and women of all ages
with diverse backgrounds and skills. You can join the dedicated and compassionate
individuals who devote time and talent to serving our patients, their families and
hospital staff.
The goal of the Patient and Family Partnership Council for Quality and Safety is
to embody a partnership and open communication about what has worked well for you
and your family as patients and what could have worked better.
