My bio
I am Dr. Mayur K. Virarkar, the Chief of Abdominal Radiology and an Assistant Professor at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Jacksonville. I am an Abdominal, Neuroradiology and Chest fellowship-trained, CAQ Neuroradiologist and ABR-certified radiologist. Additionally, I am honored to serve as the Co-Chair of the Society of Abdominal Radiology (SAR) Neuroendocrine Neoplasm Disease Focused Panel (DFP). I am also a Certified Imaging Informatics Professional (CIIP). My career is driven by a passion for advancing cancer research. I specialize in oncological imaging, utilizing modalities such as Ultrasound, CT, PET/CT, and MRI, along with cutting-edge technologies including PET/MRI and Photoacoustic Imaging (PAI). My primary focus lies in enhancing diagnostic precision and developing non-invasive molecular imaging techniques to enable early cancer detection, ultimately aiming to improve patient outcomes and broaden therapeutic strategies.
