Hospice and Palliative Medicine
Patients with painful life-limiting illness and those nearing the end of life have unique needs that require specialized treatment. At UF Health Jacksonville, that compassionate care is provided by our hospice and palliative medicine physicians.
Where expertise and compassion meet
Hospice and palliative care focuses on the comfort and quality of life for our patients. Our specialists are dedicated to relieving suffering while addressing the physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs of both patients and their families.
In all cases, our health care professionals from various medical disciplines — physicians, nurses, social work counselors and chaplains — come together as a team to assist patients with terminal or life-limiting illness. Adult services are offered at both UF Health Jacksonville and UF Health North.
Pediatric care
Community PedsCare is a program of Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, with collaboration between the University of Florida, Wolfson Children's Hospital and Nemours. It provides nursing, medical and emotional support for children and their families and focuses on in-hospital and in-home care for youth with chronic pain and life-threatening diseases.
