UF Health Jacksonville has a separate Pediatric Emergency Center designed especially for children. Staffed by specially trained University of Florida physicians, the center focuses exclusively on children's needs, with pediatric-specific dosage charts, instruments and supplies to ensure the safety of your child.

Why choose UF Health Jacksonville?

UF Health Jacksonville is one of only two hospitals in Northeast Florida to have a separate pediatric emergency center. Our experts care for more than 22,000 children every year.

  • Your child's health is important to us, and we strive to attend to your family's needs as quickly as possible.
  • We provide an environment that is nonthreatening, calming to children, and informative and assuring to their parents. All patients receive care from team members who specialize in children's health care.
  • A key strength of the UF Health Jacksonville Pediatric Emergency Center is the talented team of physicians and nursing staff. As leaders in their field, these University of Florida physicians are involved in numerous regional, state and national committees and address various issues related to the emergency care of children.
  • The nurses are certified not only in Pediatric Advanced Life Support, but also in Pediatric Emergency Nursing — an advanced certification in caring for critically injured and ill children.
