Primary Care Sports Medicine Program

UF Health primary care sports medicine physicians (PCSM) are certified to care for the unique needs of injured athletes of all ages, with a focus on preventive measures, diagnosis, nonsurgical treatments and management of sports-related injuries.

Primary care sports medicine specialists also develop personalized treatment plans to help every patient get back on their feet and back in the game. Our physicians use evidence-based medicine and incorporate these concepts into all facets of the evaluation and treatment of each patient. In addition to individual patients, our physicians provide medical care for local sports organizations.

• Bone loss/osteoporosis management

• Corticosteroid injections
• Cryoablation/lovera
• Exercise prescriptions

• Hyaluronic acid injection
• Manipulation/adjustments by DO providers
• Muscle/ligament strains and sprains
• Musculoskeletal ultrasound
• Office-based tenotomies

• Orthopaedic and sports medicine rehabilitation

Primary care sports medicine physicians work in collaboration with orthopaedic and sports medicine surgeons and rehabilitation specialists at UF Health to help ensure patients receive comprehensive care for injuries.
