UF Health Neurology in Jacksonville, Florida, offers comprehensive
care for brain and nerve disorders. The department includes a nationally recognized
team of faculty neurologists of the University
of Florida Department of Neurology who are part of the multidisciplinary
UF Health Neuroscience Institute. By participating
in numerous national and international research projects and investing in the most
sophisticated technology available, the institute offers state-of-the-art diagnostic,
therapeutic and rehabilitative neurologic services.
UF neurologists work alongside neurosurgeons, neurosurgical
oncologists, psychiatrists,
pulmonologists, neuroradiologists,
speech-language pathologists, ophthalmologists,
pain medicine physicians,
rehabilitation services and other specialists to provide comprehensive care.
The department plays a key role in some of the region's premiere medical programs,
including a stroke program which was the first program in
North Florida to receive accreditation from the Agency for Health Care Administration
as a Comprehensive Stroke Center. The department also offers dedicated programs
for epilepsy, movement
disorders/Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis and
neuromuscular disease.
