Cancer Support Groups
Breast Cancer Support Group, a monthly group that is committed
to enhancing the lives of women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. Through
educational and emotional support, resources, fun activities and speakers, this
group's mission is ensure that women feel empowered and encouraged. Meetings will
be held the second Thursday of each month at 5 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. at the UF Health
Jacksonville North Campus 15255 Max Leggett Parkway, Jacksonville, FL 32209. For

Support for People with Oral and Head and Neck Cancer is dedicated
to meeting the emotional, physical and humanistic needs of oral and head and neck
cancer patients and their caregivers. Meetings offer information, support and encouragement
to newly diagnosed patients, survivors, family members and friends in a friendly,
non-threatening forum. Survivors discuss their experiences, coping strategies and
hopes. Meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month from 1 p.m. – 2 p.m.
at the Florida Proton Center, 2015 North Jefferson Street, 1st floor conference

Childbirth & Parenting
Childbirth Education is a monthly class offered through the Little
Miracles program. Classes cover topics on pain management, labor, cesarean delivery
and breastfeeding. Classes are held at UF Health Jacksonville’s 8th Street campus
the second and third Saturdays of each month and at UF Health North the fourth Saturdays
of each month from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a break for lunch. To register, please call 904-885-5768.
Mommy Mingle is a free breastfeeding and postpartum monthly support group for new moms to learn more about the
changes and challenges that can occur after childbirth. The group allows moms to
connect with each other in a safe, supportive space and share ideas for adjusting
to the "new normal" that arrives alongside motherhood. Babies from 2 weeks to 1
year are welcome to attend with their moms. This group meets every second Tuesday
of the month from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. in the patient tower first floor conference
rooms at UF Health North.
Neuroscience Support Groups
The ALS Association Florida Chapter offers monthly educational
and support group meetings for persons with ALS and family members. Group meets
the second Friday of each month from 12 to 2 p.m. at the Community Hospice Hadlow
Center, 4266 Sunbeam Rd Jacksonville, FL 32257. Contact Melissa Fehrenkamp for more

Caregivers Support Group explores the rewards and challenges of
caring for a loved one. We are a monthly support group for family members and caregivers
of neurology patients, meets the second Tuesday of each month from 12:30 to 2 p.m.
at the UF Health Jacksonville Tower II, 580 West 8th St., first floor, Blue Room.
Join us as we look to encourage each other, share information, experiences and provide

Epilepsy Support Group, a monthly support group for seizure/epilepsy
patients, caregivers and the community. The group meets the fourth Tuesday of each
month—January through October—from 6 to 8 p.m. at the UF Health Jacksonville

The Multiple Sclerosis Support Group offers a quarterly educational
symposium lecture featuring UF Health Board Certified Medical Specialists as they
present up to date and cutting edge strategies for patients who have Multiple Sclerosis.
This educational series is open to all Multiple Sclerosis patients, caregivers,

Myasthenia Gravis Support Group, a monthly support group for Myasthenia
Gravis patients and their families, meets on the first Saturday (every even month)
from 1 to 3 p.m. at the UF Health Jacksonville Tower II, 580 West 8th St., first

Parkinson Support Group, meets on the second Wednesday of each
month from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (holiday schedules may vary) on the UF Health
Jacksonville campus in the Towers, 580 West 8th St. Signs will be posted at the

Tai Chi classes for patients and their caregivers with neurology
conditions such as Parkinson's, stroke, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy and neuropathy

Stroke Busters is a monthly support group for stroke patients and
their families. This group meets on the third Thursday of each month (except December)
from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Tower I, 10th floor, Swisher Room. A free lunch is

Big Step is a is a four-week smoking cessation program open to
the public. Some topics include yoga, relaxation and meditation as aids to smoking
cessation. $5 per session. The program starts on the first Wednesday of each month
and continues through the following three Wednesdays. Meetings are held at 11:30
a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the UF Health Jacksonville ACC Building, 655 West 8th St.,
fourth floor, at UF Health Community and Family Medicine – Jacksonville. For more
