Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Residency

The UF Health Jacksonville Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Residency Program is designed to provide exceptional clinical education across the continuum of defined specialty physical therapy practice based on American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. The program involves didactic work, clinical research, mentored leadership and clinical training via structured mentorship. Residents are expected to be able to implement all learned knowledge and skills into defined specialty practice resulting in the next generation of highly effective clinical specialists in physical therapy, and further improving community health outcomes. The program duration is 12 months, with two full-time residents accepted per year.

Welcome to the University of Florida Health Jacksonville Department of Rehabilitation Services. We offer patient care services at two acute care hospitals, one transitional care unit and five outpatient clinics at UF Health Jacksonville. We use a multidisciplinary, team-based approach to providing individualized and comprehensive care and address the rehabilitation needs of adult patients with a variety of diagnoses to best improve an individual's mobility, independence and quality of life. In addition to serving patients’ rehabilitative needs, we are proud to offer a robust PT residency program where residents learn from and are mentored by highly qualified physical therapy faculty from the University of Florida Health system. The department also provides a long standing, entry-level clinical education program to occupational therapy, physical therapy and speech language pathology students from programs across the county.
