UF Health Jacksonville Orthopaedic PT Residency Program

The mission of the program is to provide exceptional physical therapy specialty training across the continuum of orthopaedic care. Through didactic work, clinical research, focused clinical and leadership training, residents will develop advanced skills in clinical decision-making, orthopaedic patient care management, and application of evidenced-informed practice to become the next generation of highly effective orthopaedic specialists, improving the health and wellness of our community.

The UF Health Jacksonville Physical Therapy Residency Program is designed to provide exceptional clinical education across the continuum of defined specialty physical therapy practice based on American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS). Our organization and department believe that interactive learning is critical for the development of life-long learning, professionalism, accountability and critical thinking. Each component of residency training is designed to correlate with ABPTRFE Quality Standards, and individual academic curriculum learning objectives.

The PT Residency Program involves didactic work, clinical research, mentored leadership and clinical training via structured mentorship. Residents are expected to be able to implement all learned knowledge and skills into defined specialty practice resulting in the next generation of highly effective clinical specialist in physical therapy and further improving community health outcomes. We are currently offering an orthopaedic PT residency program.

Program Length: 11.5 months following an academic calendar, Mid-August - July each year.

Numbers of Residents Accepted: Three full time residents per year.
