Residency Programs
A major priority of the UF Health Jacksonville Department of Pharmacy's educational program is the advancement and growth of residency training programs following the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists residency accreditation standards.
The department provides residency training in the following areas:
- Pharmacy Residency (PGY-1)
- Ambulatory Care (PGY-2)
- Critical Care (PGY-2)
- Emergency Medicine (PGY-2)
- Infectious Diseases (PGY-2)
- Pain Management and Palliative Care (PGY-2)
We have trained over 300 residents in the last 39 years and are very proud their impact on advancing the profession of pharmacy. Our residents obtained their pharmacy degree from many Colleges and Universities across the United States.
Most UF Health Jacksonville pharmacy practitioners hold academic appointments with the University of Florida College of Pharmacy. In this capacity, they actively participate as APPE and IPPE preceptors for UF Doctor of Pharmacy candidates.
In addition, our practitioners routinely participate in the education of other health care professionals including physicians, nurses and other professionals. They are also involved with public education activities to increase awareness of appropriate medication use and information on the practice of pharmacy.
